Canadian Pacific Railway

Canadian Pacific Railway, incorporated in 1881, ran the transcontinental line finished in 1885. The 1945 report is the railway, not the later investments company. Beside rails it historically ran hotels, ships and, from 1942, an airline.

CPR was the railway promised to British Columbia at Confederation. It opened the Prairies and the Pacific coast to Canadian traffic.

Now

The railway became a stand-alone public company again in the 2001 CP split. On 14 April 2023 it combined with Kansas City Southern as Canadian Pacific Kansas City. This is the railway lineage, not Canadian Pacific Investments.
