The de Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited built STOL aircraft at Downsview and Malton, Ontario, including the Caribou, Beaver, and Otter, and employed 6,200 people there at year-end.

That year
In 1963 the company delivered ninety-nine aircraft, mostly Caribou I, and advanced the turbine-powered Buffalo, a joint development with the Canadian Department of Defence Production.
