The company

Camel Oil and Gas Ltd. was a junior oil and gas producer. In 1982 it applied in Alberta to modify a gas plant at Abee, and in 1984 it applied to commingle production there. Ontario records also list Camel wells drilled in Lambton County in 1980-81, later marked abandoned.

That year

Camel drilled 44 wells, 24 of them completed as oil or gas wells. The merger with Gulch Resources Ltd. increased assets by 81 percent and brought the before tax asset base to $100,317,000 at a 15 percent discount rate.
