The company

Canadian Foundation Company was a Montreal civil contractor. Aecon's heritage page dates Foundation Company to 1910 as a top civil contractor in Montreal and a forerunner of its infrastructure business. The 1985 annual report cover shows a circular tank foundation and crane at dusk.

The Foundation Company of Canada and Skanska, as the Kimco joint venture, held three civil works contracts totalling $60 million on the $200 million Kiambere hydroelectric project in Kenya, including a 73 metre high surge chamber.
